From the Back:
When romance calls, will she choose to answer?
Hannah Gregory is good at many things, but that list does not include following rules. So when she must apply for a job as a switchboard operator to support her two sisters, she knows it won't be easy. Hello Girls must conduct themselves according to strict-and often bewildering-rules, which include absolutely no consorting with gentlemen while in training.
Hannah doubts it will be difficult to keep that rule-until a handsome young lawyer starts getting under her skin.
With historic details that bring to life the exciting first decade of the twentieth century, Lorna Seilstad weaves a charming tale of companionship that blossoms into sweet romance.
My Reflections:
This is the first book in the Gregory Sisters Series.
Hannah Gregory's life takes a dramatic turn when her parents
die and she is left raising her two sisters.
Forced to abandon her dream of becoming a lawyer, Hannah takes a job as a Hello Girl. She is thankful for this job but does not know if all the rules that come with the job will be her undoing.
The strict nature of her new profession restricts not only her working time but also her personal life. This was not a problem until she meets a handsome, financially secure lawyer who seems to have an eye for her.

Lincoln the handsome lawyer is drawn to Hannah and tries to help the sisters any way he can, even though Hannah isn't very responsive, he will woo her going as far as involving the sisters.
Is Hannah able to take care of her sisters?, and what about
the relationship between her and Lincoln?
You will have to pick up this copy to find out if she is
just too stubborn to succumb to the will of God, and not lean on her own strength
this time.
I so enjoyed Lorna Seilstad's ability to pick out areas of history that are not always written about in historical fiction. I completely fell in love with the era in a whole new way, and found it so intriguing to learn about the Hello Girls and all the strict rules that the job entailed.
I can't wait to read the next book in the Gregory Sisters series due out in 2014.
